چکیده
In this talk we will present recent developments in the design and analysis of numerical homogenization methods. Numerical methods for linear and nonlinear partial differential equations that combine multiscale methods with reduced order modeling techniques such as the reduced basis method will be discussed. The talk is based upon a series of joint works with various collaborators[1,2,3,4,5]. [1] A. Abdulle and Y. متن کاملRandomizEd phase II trial of Sunitinib four weeks on and two weeks off versus Two weeks on and One week off in metastatic clear-cell type REnal cell carcinoma: RESTORE trial.
BACKGROUND The standard sunitinib schedule, 4 weeks on, followed by 2 weeks off (4/2 schedule), is associated with troublesome toxicities, and maintenance of adequate sunitinib dosing and drug levels, which are essential for achieving an optimal treatment outcome, is challenging. The objective of this study was to investigate the efficacy and safety of an alternative sunitinib dosing schedule o...
متن کاملSunitinib dosing schedule 2/1 improves tolerability, efficacy, and health-related quality of life in Chinese patients with metastatic renal cell carcinoma.
PURPOSE To assess the efficacy and tolerability of sunitinib dosing schedule of 2 weeks on and 1 week off (schedule 2/1) vs. the traditional schedule of 4 weeks on and 2 week off (schedule 4/2) and its influence on health-related quality of life (HRQoL) in Chinese patients with metastatic renal cell carcinoma (mRCC). MATERIALS AND METHODS A retrospective analysis of 108 patients with mRCC who...
متن کاملPopulation Pharmacokinetic/Pharmacodynamic Modeling of Sunitinib by Dosing Schedule in Patients with Advanced Renal Cell Carcinoma or Gastrointestinal Stromal Tumor
BACKGROUND Sunitinib is a multi-targeted tyrosine kinase inhibitor used in the treatment of advanced renal cell carcinoma (RCC) and imatinib-resistant/intolerant gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GIST). METHODS A meta-analysis of 10 prospective clinical studies in advanced RCC and GIST was performed to support the development of pharmacokinetic (PK) and PK/pharmacodynamic (PD) models that acco...
متن کاملFatigue in patients with advanced renal cell carcinoma receiving sunitinib on an intermittent versus continuous dosing schedule in a randomized phase II trial
A phase II trial in advanced renal cell carcinoma (RCC) found no benefit in efficacy or safety between patients receiving oral sunitinib 50 mg/day for 4 weeks followed by 2-week off-treatment (Schedule 4/2) and those receiving 37.5 mg continuous daily sunitinib. We hypothesized that fatigue would have a more variable "on-off" effect with the 4/2 schedule. A total of 292 patients completed two f...
متن کاملA simulated annealing approach to the traveling tournament problem
Automating the scheduling of sport leagues has received considerable attention in recent years, as these applications involve significant revenues and generate challenging combinatorial optimization problems. This paper considers the traveling tournament problem (TTP) proposed in [10, 4] to abstract the salient features of major league baseball (MLB) in the United States. It proposes a simulate...
